Evaluation Criteria
Evaluation Criteria for Military Lawyers
Our research team first focuses on the firm’s understanding of general military issues involving military law and protocol. Do the attorneys work with clients to ensure that proper protocol was being carried out and that there are no legal issues regarding different judgments being carried out by commanding officers?
Next we analyze the firm’s handling of fraudulent enlistment cases. Does the firm work to protect the rights of the individuals who have enlisted in the military? Do the attorneys have an understanding of enlistment requirements and qualifications?
We then review the firm’s work with desertion cases. Do the attorneys help clients to prove intent to return to post or to prove that there were no contractual obligations prior to leaving? How effective is the firm at working to reduce punishment for desertion?
Another aspect of our evaluation deal with the firm’s understanding of mutiny cases or charges against a soldier or soldiers trying to take over command. We assess the attorneys’ work to defend the actions of their clients.
Lastly we focus on the firm’s work with murder cases within the military. Do the attorneys work with the client to represent them in cases dealing with the accusation of murder? Do they defend the client’s rights and ability to continue duty in the military?
