Evaluation Criteria

Evaluation Criteria for Environmental Lawyers

We first review the firm’s knowledge of general environmental law.  Do the attorneys have a solid grasp of how environmental law works and how to help clients deal with their legal issues in regard to these laws?

Next we analyze the firm’s handling of cases involving pollution. Does the firm have a good understanding of pollution emission laws for corporations?  How do they ensure that their client’s rights are being protected?  Does the firm work with the Environmental Protection Agency to ensure that all standards are being met?

We then review the attorney’s ability to handle hazardous waste cases. We assess the firm’s knowledge and advice when it comes to the handling and disposal of hazardous waste.  We also review the attorney’s handling of lawsuits regarding hazardous waste.

Another aspect of our evaluation focuses on the firm’s knowledge of poaching laws.  Do the attorneys work hard to make sure that their client is aware of the various poaching laws?  Is the firm staying up to date on the most recent case law?

Lastly we focus on the attorney’s knowledge of contamination issues whether it is through pollution, accidental spills, or even through the illegal process of making drugs or chemicals. Does the firm work to determine the liability involved in a case?  Does the attorney work to handle the negotiations and mitigation of damages for their client?
