Evaluation Criteria

Evaluation Criteria for Criminal Justice Lawyers

The first aspect of our evaluation focuses on the firm’s knowledge of general criminal issues. We assess their overall ability to handle a case and to adjust to unforeseen changes in the case.  We also review how well versed in all types of criminal justice the firm is.

Next we focus on the firm’s handling of criminal defense. Does the firm provide consistent quality in dealing with various clients?   Do they represent each client fairly providing the best possible defense and representation?

We then focus of the firm’s arrest analysis and review of the case details.  Does the firm make sure that the rights of their client have been protected throughout the entire process?  How extensive is the firm’s knowledge of case law when it comes to an individual’s rights?

Another aspect of our evaluation focuses on the process of litigation. Is the attorney able to represent their client during litigation to defend their client’s rights and seek justice through the legal system?  We focus on understanding how an attorney is able to use their knowledge of litigation.

The final focus reviews the firm’s handling of parole hearings and their ability to help criminals who have turned to good behavior to be allowed a second chance. We assess the firm’s handling of facts and witnesses in preparation for parole hearings as well as their actual handling of the hearing itself.
