Few Spirits is proud to join the ranks of the supporters of HR 777. The Few Spirits announces support for HR 777, the Small Distillery Excise Tax Act of 2011 to support American economy and jobs. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Hinchey of New York, would provide a lower excise tax rate for certain small distilleries to enable them to make additional capital investments in their business, and to hire additional employees.

A study conducted by the American Distilling Institute (distilling.com) in 2011 revealed that passage of the bill would result in an average of 2.1 full time employees being hired by each of the nations 300 plus micro distillers, and over $16 million in new capital investment. The chairman of the American Distilling Institute, Bill Owens, has asked "Congress and President Obama to pass HR 777 into law this year so our members can continue to grow and create more American manufacturing jobs. We know it works, we've seen it micro-brewers and small wineries boom over the past two decades."
