Company Profile
Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP Logo
Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP (known as Niles Barton) started over 170 years ago as Baltimore’s first law partnership, initially formed as Brown & Brune. Today, our law firm serves the Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C. areas with over 35 attorneys and 35 support personnel. We are still located in the heart of Baltimore’s downtown Inner Harbor district.
As a full-service, midsized firm, we support the legal needs of our clients with a more personal approach. We care about the little details and our clients’ interests. As a result, we represent some of the finest individuals and businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region and worldwide.
Trusted for our Experience
Almost every firm claims to have experience, so we asked our clients what they thought. Experienced and trustworthy were the most common words used by clients to describe Niles Barton. We sustain this reputation through our best practices, hiring and training programs. Our supervised, hands-on approach to training incorporates real cases and real responsibility from the start. This immediate experience translates into extremely seasoned, knowledgeable attorneys who understand the law and business, and our clients recognize this distinction among our team of professionals.
Trusted for our Character
Niles Barton takes pride in the integrity of our firm and our professionals. Our clients never have to worry about professionalism or ethics when we represent them. In fact, more than half of our clients come to Niles Barton because of the reputation of our firm or our attorneys. The way we conduct ourselves in court and in meetings benefits clients because we establish credibility with others in the legal community, which is another reason why many of our attorneys are AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, a peer review rating that indicates very high to preeminent legal ability and ethical standards.
Trusted for our Commitment
Our ability to provide personal client service goes beyond the benefits of a midsized firm. Our client commitment stems from our roots as one of Baltimore’s most established law firms. It is part of our culture. From our legal secretaries to our paralegals to our attorneys, you will know that you are a valued client. Our partners stay involved throughout the entire legal process which contributes to why over 98% of clients rate the availability and accessibility of our attorneys as very good to excellent. Client commitment is a tradition that will continue from our past to our future.
