Overview
Benefits
Canada has recently enacted a comprehensive federal law to deal with SPAM and malware that may possibly be the toughest of its kind in the world. Marketers who send any form of commercial electronic messages to Canadians will need to understand the detailed rules that now govern this form of communication. Penalties for noncompliance are severe and can apply directly to directors and officers. This live audio conference will help marketers, email database managers, social media operators and anyone who sends commercial electronic communications to Canada to understand the new rules in Canada, the differences between the Canadian regime and the US CAN-SPAM Act, and will provide practical tips for compliance. Failure to comply with this new law can expose a company and its directors to penalties of up to $10 million dollars and class action lawsuits of much greater magnitude. This program is critical for companies to ensure that their electronic address databases are appropriately cleansed and that they implement systems to properly classify and track electronic communications going forward.
