Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures, through coordination and direction of subordinate personnel, the acquisition, within budget and in a timely manner, of lands, land rights and construction permits necessary to capital and transmission projects.
Develops and implements procedures and guidelines ensuring the protection of corporate assets (land, easements, leases and permits) from loss due to expiration, misinterpretation of easement rights and/or encroachments.
Ensures payments are made for governmental permits, lease/rental properties and railroad license agreements as required by the term of the controlling documents.
Negotiates and administers right-of-way call out services contracts and provides contract right-of-way personnel to on-going projects.
Maintains contacts with right-of-way personnel at other transmission companies as well as within the International Right of Way Association and Southern Gas Association to ensure awareness of right-of way trends and problems, litigation and land values in common geographic areas, etc.
Selects, trains, assigns, directs and evaluates departmental staff members.
